THE Steve Prescott Bridge will be joining other landmarks tonight by lighting up blue to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS.

Commenting on the lovely gesture Ann Marr, chief executive of St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “Everyone at the Trust would like to say a huge thank you to St Helens Council for their support.

"We are extremely proud of our staff who go above and beyond every day for our patients, and celebrations like today are recognition of all their hard work.

"It’s wonderful that everyone across the Borough has come together today to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.”
