THE family of Adam Ellison say there has been an ‘amazing’ response to the Crimewatch episode covering the night and aftermath surrounding his murder.

Adam, 29, died after he was stabbed in the neck as he walked home from a pub in Prescot at 12.45am on Saturday, November 4. He was out that night talking to his friends about his plans to propose to his girlfriend of nearly six years, Rebecca Cunliffe.

The episode revealed an image of a potential witness, the fact that the offenders may have burned their clothing after the attack and that the scrambler bike his killers rode away on may have been sold on.

Adam’s sister, Nicola Moore, said: “The feedback from the Crimewatch episode has been amazing, the police have had more people come forward with information that has given them some new leads of investigation and given us some hope.

“We would do anything for our brother and we will work hard to work with the police to get Adam the justice he deserves.

“Crimewatch, even though it was hard for us, was worth it if we find those who did this.

“I can’t thank police and Crimewatch enough for their support and people for coming forward.”

Detective Chief Inspector John Middleton said: “We received a good response to the recent Crimewatch Roadshow programme, and are following up all information provided.

“Adam’s family continue to do all they can to support our appeals, which can be an extremely difficult ordeal when reliving what happened, and we are grateful for their assistance, and everyone who has come forward so far.

“But I also want to emphasise that we still need the help of the community in finding those responsible for the murder of Adam, and furthermore we believe more information is out there.

“We still need information on a green and white Kawasaki bike ridden in the area on Friday, November 3, and on intelligence that suggests offenders burned their clothing after the attack.

“Come forward, in whichever way you can, and we can bring the killer of Adam to justice.”
