BURGLARS stole an Audi A5 S-Line alongside cash, jewellery and luxury clothing in an early hours break-in.

Police are appealing for information after a car key burglary on Greenes Road, Whiston between 2am and 2.30am, on Monday last week (June 25) after forcing entry to the rear door of the house.

As well as the white Audi (registration MA18 LLV), cash, Raymond Weil watches, a Louis Vuitton purse, sunglasses, handbags and Jimmy Choo shoes were also taken.

An iPhone was later found in The Score, at Sherdley Park in St Helens, but enquiries are ongoing to locate the car.

Detective Constable Roy Waller said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious on Greenes Road, or saw a white Audi A5 S-Line between 2-2.30am in the area on 25 June – or at Sherdley Park later that day.

“We would also appeal to anyone who has home CCTV which captured anyone in the area to let us know and we will act on all information given. If you have been offered a similar watch for a price which seems too good to be true

"The weather has been very hot this week, and people might be tempted to leave windows and doors open. I would ask everyone to be vigilant and do not leave open doors and windows unattended.

“Always ensure your car keys are safely out of sight to prevent becoming an easy target. Once you get into the habit of doing a quick check it doesn’t take much time at all and can save you a lot of distress in the long run.

"We also continue to distribute crime prevention advice to victims and residents, which is also available on the Force website."
