THE artworks of Foundation Diploma students at Carmel College are being showcased at a former town centre store.

UAL Foundation Diploma students are exhibiting their creative works at the former Burtons and Fat face shop on the corner of Bridge Street and Church Street in St Helens.

The Exhibition, ‘Changing Places’, displays a range of different art disciplines such as, Fine Art, fashion and textiles, 3D design, architecture, sculpture, animation, photography and graphic design.

A private view of the exhibition was held on Thursday evening (June 14) with hundreds in attendance.

Head of creative arts Peter Frost said: "The students from the Art Foundation Diploma pushed boundaries in every specialism from film and documentary to fashion and architecture.

"The display in the windows at the front of the shop gave a flavour of what was inside.

"The presentation was contemporary and innovative, displayed on scaffolding and utilising every inch of space over the two floors.

"It was a full house on Thursday evening attended by hundreds of appreciative art lovers."

A public event is to be held on Saturday, June 23 from 10am to 4pm.
