A LARGE fire broke out at Rainford Industrial Estate yesterday evening, Saturday.

Firefighters were called to Sandwash Close, Rainford Industrial Estate at 6.40pm after a container carrying PVC and pallets was believed to have caught fire and spread to other areas.

A forklift truck was also sent to the estate to clear up materials such as fibre glass.

Residents were urged to keep doors and windows shut during the blaze.

People with existing medical conditions were advised to keep medicine nearby.
