AN INTREPID cycling squad will take on a 150-mile bike ride in Northern Ireland over this weekend in aid of St Helens Autism Support.

A team of 14 plucky cyclists are making their way across the Irish Sea today and will aim to cycle 150 miles over two days.

The group will go to Portrush and back via The Giants Causeway, before travelling back over the Irish Sea to Birkenhead on Bank Holiday Monday.

They will then cap it off with a 50-mile cycle back to St Helens via Chester, Frodsham and Warrington.

The effort will raise funds for the St Helens Autism Support organisation.

Participant Dave Howarth said: "We are raising much needed funds for a great cause. Massive thanks to all who have supported the ride this year."
