A MUM-of-two is "thrilled" after securing retail orders of her invention on a mainstream TV show.

Helen Davies, of Cowley Hill Lane, St Helens, appeared on Channel 4's Buy It Now on Thursday and impressed the studio audience with a 90-second pitch of her product, the EasyMat Mini.

She then presented the Amazon UK best-seller to a retail panel of judges and managed to attract orders to the value of around £4,000.

The EasyMat Mini is the first ever compact and foldable suction plate, which can be used at home and while travelling.

Helen devised the idea after seeing her daughter Keira, three, repeatedly throwing her plate and full meals on the floor.

Helen, who has had to keep the result of the show a secret for four months, said: “Orders from big-name buyers have the power to totally transform the fortunes of our family business so I could not be more thrilled.

“I have had to bite my tongue when I wanted to shout it from the rooftops so to finally be able to talk about it is a massive relief.

"I am so grateful to the show for giving me a ‘shop window’ to promote my product to a national audience.

"I would also like to say a special thank-you to the studio audience members who lit their lights for me and, of course, to our new buyers: shopping channel giants JML and family-run gift retailers Prezzybox.

‘Filming the show is an experience I will never forget but watching it on TV with my partner Lloyd and our daughters Elora and Kiera was even more special.”

The product also fits most highchair sizes and has features including a sealed lid, compact design and a carry case.

It is currently selling in six European counties with talks ongoing to distribute them across other areas of the world.
