THIS large machete was among the weapons seized by police officers who searched a vehicle on the East Lancashire Road.
Officers stopped a VW Golf, near to Windle Island on Monday evening, which was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Police say they found a number of weapons in the car, including the large machete.
They say two men were arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons and other offences.
