WORK has started to build 68 homes on the site of the former British Insulated Callenders Cables.

The Prescot development, known as Callenders Green, is being led by housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes and will provide two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

The first phase of homes is expected to be ready by autumn 2018 with the completion of all 68 homes expected by summer 2019.

Prices are expected to start from £159,950 up to £339,950 with a variety of assisted buying schemes available such as Help to Buy and Part Exchange.

Stephen Daintith, land director at Stewart Milne Homes, said: “Callenders Green will be a great addition to our growing portfolio of developments in the North West.

“Work is now well underway and starting to take shape ready for completion this autumn. When complete, Callenders Green will offer buyers a choice of quality new homes in Prescot, available at a range of price points.

“We have already received significant interest from potential buyers which reflects demand for our homes, as well as the popularity of the area and its location in the heart of Knowsley.”
