A 30-YEAR-OLD man accused of possessing a knife in public has been bailed to appear in court next month.

Craig John Swift, of Station Road, Sutton is charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He is accused of possessing a black kitchen knife in public on Tuesday, May 8.

Swift denied the offence at Merseyside Magistrates' Court earlier this month.

Due to appear again on Thursday (May 17), Swift was remanded on bail and will now appear next at South Sefton Magistrates' Court on June 14.

Swift, meanwhile, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of Class B drug cannabis on the same date.
