Man, 31, convicted of grooming underage girl for sexual activity
A 31-YEAR-OLD man has been convicted of grooming a girl for sexual activity.
Gareth Lee Ward, of London Row, Newton-le-Willows, admitted to attempting to meet a girl aged under 16 for sexual activity.
Ward has pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court with attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 following grooming for sexual activity between February and April of this year.
He also admitted to engaging in 'sexual communication' with the girl during this timeframe and to attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
The case has been adjourned while a pre-sentence report is prepared.
Ward has been remanded into custody and will appear for sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, June 20.
