A SUSPECTED attempted burglar was found hiding under a trampoline after being chased through residential gardens by police.
Shortly before midnight on Monday (May 14), a report was received of a man seen entering the window of a house in Belvedere Road, Newton-le-Willows.
A resident in nearby Highmarsh Crescent is understood to have been awoken by the chase as the suspect had tried to enter a door.
Officers found a man under a trampoline in a nearby garden.
A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and was taken to a police station for questioning.
It is believed the suspect has absconded from prison.
