THE draw for the sixth round of the Challenge Cup has paired Saints with a repeat of last year’s opener at Castleford.
Saints lost that game, at the same time last year, 53-10 in what was the club’s last game before Justin Holbrook arrived.
The Jungle was also the scene of the dramatic 23-22 golden point Super League semi-final heartache, but Saints did win a Super 8s match there in between.
Although it is once again another tough cup draw - as has been the pattern in recent years - Saints can draw confidence from the opening day of the season when they thumped last year’s League Leaders Shield winners 46-6.
Saints will be desperate to take their Super League form into this encounter with the town and club itching for a Wembley return after a nine-year wait.
The club’s last appearance in the Challenge Cup Final was the 2008 win over Hull FC.
The full draw is: Hull KR v Wigan, Castleford v St Helens, Toronto v Warrington Wolves (at Warrington), Leigh v Salford, Featherstone Rovers v Hull FC, Catalans Dragons v Whitehaven, Widnes Vikings v Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield v Wakefield Trinity.
The ties will be played over the weekend of May11-13.
