HERE are numerous community events coming up in St Helens in the near future which you can attend:
- Sister Duffy
A MASS is to be held to commemorate the life of Sister Kathleen Duffy to mark the third anniversary of her death.
The former Providence Hospital nurse, who was one of the town’s most-loved figures, died in may 2015 aged 85.
She became a local legend for the care she provided at the hospital, a Catholic institution loved by people from all walks of life, which closed three decades ago.
The Mass will be held in her memory at Holy Cross Church, where she was sacristan, on Sunday, May 27 at 9.30am.
