COLD winter payments have been triggered for some postcodes in the borough.
Recipients of some benefits are eligible for the cold weather payments if the average temperature in their area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below for seven consecutive days.
St Helens North MP Conor McGinn took to social media to say payments had been triggered for the following postcodes in his constituency:
WA10, WA11, WA12, WA2, WA3, WA5, WA9, WN4, WN5, WN8

People may be eligible to receive the money of they are getting Pension Credit; Income Support; Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance; Income-related Employment or Support Allowance Universal Credit.
