A KIND-hearted 13-year-old had his long hair shaved off in memory of his friend who died last year after suffering from cystic fibrosis.
Mackenzie Lee, from Haydock, raised £1,025 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to honour his Cowley schoolmate and friend Abi Powell.
The teenager had not had his hair cut since Abi died in June.
He grew his hair seven inches long and then donated the locks to the Little Princess Trust – a charity which makes wigs out of human hair for children who have lost theirs following chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
Mackenzie had his hair shaved at The Hair Zone on Cambridge Road last week.
