BURGLARS hurled a concrete block through a window to gain access to a town centre estate agents.

Police received a report of the break-in at the Ashtons Estate Agency on Hardshaw Street over the weekend.

It is believed an unknown number of offenders gained access to the premises between 3pm on Saturday (February 17) and 12.30pm on Sunday (February 18). 

A large concrete block was thrown through the window of the front entrance of the estate agents.

Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of the burglary.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "There is no reported stolen property at this time, however forensic teams are currently undergoing a search of the site to establish the level of damage inside and outside of the property.
