TWO bike rides took place at Taylor Park in aid of the #NoMoreKnives campaign in memory of Danny Fox.

Family and friends of Danny set off from Taylor Park at 9.30am, many journeying to Southport and back - with others cycling to Whiston Hospital and finishing at Thatto Heath Park.

Among those at the event was Danny's aunt Dawn Jones, mum Lynda Ashton, parents of Violet-Grace Youens Glenn and Rebecca and Cllr Richard McCauley.

It was the first event of the campaign in raising awareness of knife crime - which seeks to raise funds to get knife wands into bars in the town centre.

It was held in memory of Danny, 29, who died after he was stabbed on North John Street in the town centre in September 2016.

Leighton Holt, who walked free from court after a jury failed to reach a verdict following a retrial, had been carrying a blade.
