POLICE have been conducting open land searches in St Helens today around knife crime hotspots as part of a national week of action.
They have carrying out high visibility policing in key areas as part of Operation Sceptre around Canal and Bold Street near to The Phoenix Inn.
The aim is to offer safety, crime reduction and reassurance messages as part of their work addressing the issue of knife crime.
