A MUM whose nine-year-old daughter has autism has burned 1,200 calories after taking on a 1,000 burpees challenge in aid of a charity that arranges events for children with learning difficulties.

Suzanne Barrow, from Moss Bank took on the challenge last month and surpassed her target to raise £1,040 for the St Helens-based Friends – Play for Disabled Children charity.

The 36-year-old, who has lost eight stone to be a healthier mum to daughter Maya, said: “I completed my 1,001 burpees (because you can always do one more rep) and I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and donations.

“I also want to thank FitFood who fed me after the challenge, which took two hours.

“Now we’re looking forward to our next event with the group which will be the Little Mix Experience at St Helens Theatre Royal.”

Suzanne also raised a further £326 by doing a bag pack at B&M before Christmas.
