HERE is a picture of St Cuthbert’s School rugby teams.

Mel Moran has shared the photograph from 1968, which features the school's Rugby Sevens senior side on the back row and 'A team' in the front row.

Mel said the senior team featured in the local press after winning the St Alban’s Sevens RL tournament without conceding a single point in three games.

An article stated: "The inspiration behind the great victories was Tommy O’Neil, their skipper. Tommy was in a class of his own, and completely dominated the play. His personal points tally was 50, which included 10 tries and the same number of goals."

Readers can send us any of their historical photos which they would like to see feature on the Star's nostalgia pages.
