A TENNIS club is hoping to create four new courts at Newton-le-Willows Sports & Social Club.
The Newton-le-Willows tennis section of a not-for-profit Community Amateur Sports Club is seeking to redevelop three existing clay courts and create a new one to comprise of a block of four.
Plans also include floodlights and new fencing.
A planning application, submitted to St Helens Council, says the current courts "are only playable four to five months of the year" with the aim to provide "all year round tennis".
Proposals are on consultation until Thursday, March 1.
