POLICE seized a machete and a baseball bat after reports of threats being made.
Officers were called to an address on Liverpool Road, St Helens at 9.30pm January on Thursday.
Officers traced a suspect to car a short distance away.
After speaking to a man police seized a baseball bat and a machete.
A police spokesman said: “Officers have arrested a 38 year old man from Chadderton in Greater Manchester on suspicion of affray and possession of a pointed or bladed article.”
“He was conveyed to custody for questioning.”
