THE parents of Violet-Grace Youens have launched an online poll to find out how many people signed up to the organ donation register in her memory.

The four-year-old from Eccleston died in March 2017 after she was struck by a speeding car in a hit and run on her way home from nursery with her gran, Angela French.

Her parents Glenn and Becky Youens then took the brave decision to donate their daughter's pancreas and kidney – which in turn saved two lives.

Following her death, her family have encouraged others to consider signing the organ donor register in Violet-Grace's memory.

Figures released just before New Year showed that 2,760 people have signed up to the register between March and October in St Helens, 400 more than in the same time period in 2016.

They now hope to find out who has signed up in her memory with this online poll.

Her dad Glenn, 30, said: "We just wanted to see the kind of people who are following Violet-Grace’s Gift Facebook page and see how Violet has changed lives by people signing up.

"Also we hope the poll will let people see how many people who so kindly signed up in Violet's name and spread some positivity."
