A RESTAURANT group is still weighing up which of its brands is most suitable for the West Point site.

The Star had reported last April that Tex-Mex chain Chiquito were set to move into the new unit at the location, which was initially expected to be opened by the end of last year.

However, delays had led to speculation over whether the restaurant was to still go ahead.

Owners of Chiquito, The Restaurant Group say they are assessing which brand is most suitable for the site on the fringe of the town centre.

The group's portfolio also includes Frankie & Benny's; Brunning & Price; Coast to Coast; TRG Concessions; Garfunkel's and Joe's Kitchen.

A spokesperson for The Restaurant Group said: “We are currently assessing the best brand for the location.”

The West Point site has seen an Aldi superstore and Costa Coffee drive-thru open at the location.

Work on the bowling alley Superbowl UK is expected to begin over the coming months.
