FIREFIGHTERS spent more than two hours tackling a blaze at a processing plant last week.

Three fire engines attended the processing plant on Stafford Road, Toll Bar.

Crews were called shortly after 4.30am on Sunday, January 7 to deal with the incident, which involved a fire in a ducting vent.

Crews wore breathing apparatus used high pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were sustained, say Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters remained at the plant for around two hours and 15 minutes.
