POLICE have said that the death of a man in his 40s who was found in a house on Wednesday (January 10) is not being treated as suspicious.

Police received a call at around 2pm on Wednesday reporting a man in his 40s having been found at a house in Lingholme Road, near Queens Park.

The police and ambulance service attended and the man was confirmed as dead at the scene.

Officers remained at the scene on Thursday morning to carry out further enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the death.

The man's next of kin have been informed and a Home Office post mortem examination took place on Thursday.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "A post mortem has been carried out and the results have been withheld pending toxicology reports.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
