POLICE have confirmed that the lorry driver who was killed in a crash on the M6 yesterday morning was a 37-year-old man from Manchester.
The fatal road collision, which involved three HGVs, took place at around 7.50am at junction 26 on the northbound carriageway at Orrell.
Traffic was diverted off the motorway at junction 23 at Haydock after the incident while closures were in place.
The man's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specialist family liaison officer, police added.
