MEET the couple who plan to transform the former George Street Suites shop into a canteen and restaurant serving everything from Spanish dishes to home-cooked favourites.
Sharon and Paul Bridge, from Sutton, who already have a Tex-Mex takeaway in Thatto Heath called Sabroso, plan to move their business to the George Street quarter in St Helens town centre and aim to open in April.
Their goal is to expand their existing menu and offer seating for up to 80 customers – with hopes for the upstairs to be a venue for events in the future.
Paul, 49 and Sharon, 48, said: “We love what we do and have been proud that our business has done well, but we decided to come to the town centre as we see a lot of exciting plans here. We plan to expand our current menu to offer a lot more, as Sabroso does mean tasty in Spanish. We are very excited to be part of developing the town centre.”
