A 10-YEAR-OLD has won the annual Merseyside Police Christmas card competition, based on her ‘don’t drink and drive’ card entry.

Elizabeth Prescott from St. Mary’s School in Blackbrook, was awarded a £30 voucher and £300 for her school by Chief Constable Andy Cooke.

Her design will made into the force e-card and distributed to friends, stakeholders and partners of Merseyside Police.

The competition was open to pupils between seven and 11-years-old from five primary schools in Wirral, Liverpool, St Helens, Knowsley and Sefton.

Julia Ashton, head teacher of St Marys Blackbrook, said: “We were delighted to welcome Chief Constable Cooke to St. Mary’s to present the school and winner Elizabeth Prescott with the prizes following the Christmas card competition.

“We are immensely proud of Elizabeth and the students who took part.

“We would also like to thank Chief Constable Cooke for his lovely words following the school nativity, which he kindly stayed to watch following the prize giving.”
