ARRIVA said they have had "constructive" talks with unions over the dispute over drivers' pay - but no deal has been reached yet with negotiations set to continue tomorrow (Friday).

Drivers have held several strike days over recent weeks, with seven more planned actions in the lead-up to Christmas.

A strike scheduled for today was called off after fresh talks with unions were agreed.

More planned strikes have been set for Tuesday, December 12; Wednesday, December 13; Thursday, December 14; Wednesday, December 20; Thursday, December 21; Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23.

The union says they will still go ahead if the pay dispute is not resolved.

After a meeting with unions yesterday, Phil Stone, managing director of Arriva North West, said: “Arriva North West are committed to finding a resolution to this dispute.

"Today’s talks with the unions have been constructive and we have agreed to reconvene this Friday to continue our negotiations."
