A MAN in his 50s has been taken to hospital with a head wound after a collision with a car this afternoon.
A red Ford Focus collided with the pedestrian on Knowsley Road in Eccleston shortly before 5pm today.
There are traffic delays around the area.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said the driver, a man aged 30, stopped at the scene.
The pedestrian sustained a wound to the back of his head and paramedics took him to hospital, police added.
The spokesman said: "We were called at 4.52pm to the incident which involved a car and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian was conscious and the driver stopped at the scene and is co-operating with police."
