A RAINHILL model railway club will be hosting a pre-Christmas show at the village hall on Saturday.

The event will take place from 10am to 5pm at Rainhill Village Hall, Weaver Avenue, Rainhill.

The show attracts over 500 Mums, Dads, Children and Grand Parents through the doors.

A spokesman said: "We will have at least eleven layouts on show covering four different scales.

"There will be ‘Show You How’ modeling experts on hand to share their expertise, also our Club Shop and independent traders to maybe sell a train set or other items to fill someone’s Christmas stocking.

"As an extra attraction this year, we welcome back the Merseyside & SW Lancashire 009 Narrow Gauge Group who will be exhibiting their club layouts, Traders, Demonstrators & Society Stands.

"Admission prices, which cover both exhibitions, are £3.00 for adults and £3.50 for children, (which includes a visit to Santa and a small gift).  Santa himself will be flying in from Lapland for the Day to meet as many youngsters as possible.

"Refreshments will be available and the venue has full disabled access to all areas.

"There will be a free vintage bus service running throughout the day between the exhibition and the North West Museum of Road Transport, Hall Street, St Helens.

"Admission to the museum is not included but is payable on the door."
