A DISPERSAL zone will be put in place by police around the area of Taylor Park this weekend following several complaints of anti-social behaviour.

The dispersal order will be in place from 5pm on Friday (November 24) to 1am on Sunday 26.

The area identified includes Taylor Park and goes along Prescot Road to the junction with Grosvenor Road. Laurel Road, St Anns Road, Regents Road and Holme Road are also included in the zone.

Dispersal zones are defined geographical areas in which certain powers are granted to the police under Sections 34 and 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act.

Officers or community support officers can order anyone to leave the area where the dispersal zone applies for a maximum of 48 hours.

A person who refuses to leave the area or returns within the time the dispersal zone is in place, has committed an offence and can be arrested.

Officers urged parents to make sure they are aware of where their children are this weekend.
