MOTORISTS became trapped after flooding hit at the College Street blackspot this morning.
Cars could be seen trying to go through the water near Gerrard's Bridge - and pictures showed some getting stuck.
Parts of College Street and Haresfinch Road have been closed to motorists in both directions due to heavy overnight flooding at the railway bridge.
The roads have been cordoned off just past the entrances to the Pilkington Glass site and Haresfinch Sports and Social Club.
Meanwhile, Burrows Lane in Eccleston has also been affected by flooding.
Motorists are advised to turn into Seddon Close to avoid the flooding and then turn back onto Burrows Lane.
It is not yet known when the roads will reopen, but updates will be given in due course.
