POLICE were called to a disturbance at St Helens town centre bus station this afternoon.
Onlookers reported that an altercation appeared to break out between two men near Corporation Street.
Three police cars were called to the incident, described by a spokeswoman as a "small scuffle".
The Merseyside Police spokeswoman added: "There was a small scuffle. We arrived at 2.43pm and it was over by 2.48pm.
"There was a small scuffle after two men had a dispute regarding smoking."
