RAINHILL High School has won permission to create a new two-storey teaching block.
Proposals were submitted to the council by head teacher John Pout which sought to demolish an existing single storey extension on sixth-form block and create the new block.
Plans state that the new building will provide seven new classrooms, an activity studio and a student reception.
St Helens Council planners gave the school's plans the nod.
