A BARBER grabbed the chance to chop the locks of WWE wrestling stars – after sending a cheeky message on social media.

Sean Davies, from Grange Park, who works at Empire Barber Shop on Boundary Road, contacted the WWE through the picture messaging app Instagram to see if he could cut their stars’ hair at their upcoming show in Birmingham.

And he was shocked to get a reply – which read yes!

The dad-of-one packed up his tools and hopped on a train to Arena Birmingham, where he trimmed the treads of Finn Balor, The Miz, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt , Braun Strowman, Sheamus, Cesaro and Matt Hardy.

All are stars in wrestling entertainment and have millions of fans.

The 26-year-old said: “I couldn’t believe it when I received a response after messaging them on Instagram.

“I headed down there and was behind the scenes cutting all of their hair before they went out on stage. It was epic and quite surreal really. I was still cutting hair as the show was running so I didn’t get to watch it but it was great fun and experience.

“It just goes to show you that there are opportunities everywhere if you just take a chance. I love what I do and it’s great to get some recognition and I got along well with all the lads so it was brilliant.

“My family were also really proud of me which was lovely.”

Sean hopes that this will encourage more people to think about barbering as a profession – which he says is growing in popularity – especially on social media.

He added: “If you are good at it and are passionate about bettering yourself at different techniques its a great job it really is, you get to meet all kinds of people – I love it.”
