A MAN has been charged by police after a stand off on the roof of College Street police station.
A police negotiator was called during the stand off, which lasted more than nine hours after a man had clambered on to the town centre police station at 11.30pm on Monday night.
Graffiti was scrawled on the station and chants, containing obscenities, could be heard.
The stand off ended shortly before 9am on Tuesday.
Christopher Gary Lee Griffiths, 28, of Morgan Street, Parr has been charged with criminal damage to a police station, police vehicles and a police cell, racially aggravated public order offences and assaulting a police officer.
He will appear before Liverpool City Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
