YOUR St Helens Star has opened the doors of a new office in the town centre.

The newspaper’s team has moved into a business suite on the sixth floor of Century House on Hardshaw Street.

The eight floor landmark building has undergone significant renovations since it was bought by landlord Crystal Hurstwood earlier this year.

The base provides a newsroom for the editorial team and office space for the multimedia sales executives.

The announcement comes weeks after wraps were taken off a vision to rejuvenate St Helens town centre over the next decade. Key themes of the strategy include creating a professional quarter to grow business and developing more digital companies.

St Helens Star editor Andrew Kilmurray believes the new office will strengthen the newspaper and enhance a website with a rapidly growing audience.

He added it would also enable the Star to work with businesses to develop effective print and digital platforms to promote their key messages.

Andrew said: “The new office is an excellent, modern working space that puts us right at the centre of the action – and already we are reaping the rewards of being closer to the stories when they break and nearer to our readers and advertisers.

“We have been transforming our newsroom so that we are set up to offer a website with an up-to-the-minute news service. Our readers have responded to this and we now have one of the fastest growing digital audiences in the North West.

“I’m confident the new office will take us to the next level as we seek to reach even more readers while, under the direction of our new advertising manager Clare Fitzgerald, the multimedia sales team will work with businesses to provide them with the best, modern solutions to reach their customers.”

The Star’s new business address is: Suite 6.3, Century House, Hardshaw Street, St Helens.
