FIVE people have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, following a stop search in the town centre.
In the early hours of Sunday, September 24, officers stopped a BMW acting suspiciously on Lord Street at around 1.55am and the two men in the car were searched under the misuse of drugs act.
A 26-year-old man from St Helens ran from the scene and after a chase was detained by officers, who found him in possession of numerous raps of cocaine and cash.
A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and obstructing a constable With support from Merseyside Police’s Dog Section, officers discovered suspected class A and B drugs at a nearby property where four more people were arrested.
Those arrested were:
A 26-year-old man from St Helens on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and cannabis cultivation
A 22-year-old woman from St Helens on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs
A 31-year-old man from Thatto Heath and a 19-year-old man from St Helens on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.
All have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
