A CONVICTED shoplifter has been banned from entering a raft of stores in St Helens for five years.
Lee James Stuart, 28, from St Helens has been given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Stuart, of no fixed address, was convicted on Wednesday, August 16 for a shoplifting offence at the Co-Operative on West End Road, Haydock.
He was subsequently issued with a CBO on Wednesday, September 20 which is valid for five years until September 19, 2022.
The order prohibits Stuart from entering any store in the borough owned by or a subsidiary of the Co-Operative, McColls, Tesco or Asda.

He is also banned from entering any other self -service store within St Helens than those listed above, save to seek the permission of the owner, manager or staff member or other authorised person acting on behalf of that store.
Stuart cannot remain in any self -service or business premises within the borough of St Helens when asked to leave by the store.
The order also states Stuart cannot engage in conduct causing or likely to cause harassment alarm or distress to any person in the borough.
If Stuart does not comply with all of the provisions of the CBO, he will be committing a criminal offence for which he could be sent to prison.
