THE opening of a new plus sized clothing store in the town centre has been hailed success today, with shoppers queuing up from 9am to see what they had to offer.

Yours Clothing, in the Hardshaw Centre's former Lavitta store, opened at 10am today, Friday, September 22.

Malana Bridge, a store manager from Manchester who was supporting the St Helens staff with the opening, said: “I was surprised because lots of people turned up this morning and we’ve had great feedback so far.

“People have been pleasantly surprised with what we offer here, and if we don’t have something in store we can order it in so we can help people find fashionable clothing to fit them.

“Clothes to fit real bodies with flattering cuts is what we offer so it was great to see the amount of people coming to see that today and I think it would be great for the town centre.”

Customers agreed, with Angela from Sutton said: “Me and my friends have been having to visit these stores in Runcorn and Widnes but now we can come back shopping in the town centre.

“It’s lovely in here and it has lots of options so I can dress in nice clothes like everyone else and actually I’m a size smaller here sometimes so that’s great for me.

“In other shops it’s more expensive and often not as good quality where here it’s affordable and it’s great to have a quality shop in town.”

Mum-of-two Gemma, 26, from Haydock added: “It’s good we really didn’t expect it to come to St Helens as there’s nothing else is like this in the area.

“I think it will be really good for St Helens because a lot of people go elsewhere for stuff so now they can come here.”
