A WORLD famous big band is heading into town to transport audiences back to the swinging music of the 1940s.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra will be bringing their show Ray’s In The Mood to the St Helens Theatre Royal stage on Sunday, September 24.

With direction from Ray McVay, the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders, and the sublime vocals of Catherine Sykes and Mark Porter, guests are in for a musical treat from a timeless era.

Lindy Hop dance moves will also be brought to the stage by the Swing Time Jivers as well as the Polka Dot Dolls, who will be singing songs of the Andrews Sisters.

The show will feature songs such as: In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, Little Brown Jug, Tuxedo Junction and the song that became pop history’s first gold disc, Chattanooga Choo Choo!

Tickets cost £23 and can be purchased in person at the Theatre Royal Box Office on Corporation Street, from Mon to Sat , 10am to 5pm.
