RESIDENTS with a WA9 5 postcode could be set to share a £3 million prize pot in the People’s Postcode Lottery next Saturday.

The postcode was drawn as the winner of August’s Postcode Millions and winners will soon receive their invitation to attend an exciting event in Victoria Square on Saturday, September 2 where they will find out exactly how much they’ve won.

At the event, the full winning postcode will also be announced, with those living in it receiving the largest share of the pot.

As a charity lottery, player’s support more than 3,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

With a minimum of 31 per cent of every ticket going to charity, players have raised over £221.2 million for charities to date.

A number of local projects around the postcode area have received support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, including St Helens Mind, which received £3,000 to operate a gardening allotment for their service users.

Funding was awarded to build toilet facilities and enhance accessibility to the allotments for wheelchair users.

People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador, Judie McCourt, who will be joining players on the day, said: “I can’t wait to get to St Helens and hand out some nice big cheques.

“I love meeting players of People’s Postcode Lottery and Postcode Millions events are such fantastic celebrations. Good luck to everyone who plays in WA9 5.”
