A 29-YEAR-OLD man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender following the death of amateur football stalwart Dickie Percival has been released under investigation.
Dickie was found dead at his home on Dixon Avenue, Newton-le-Willows on Friday.
He died from a blow to the back his head.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder.
Yesterday, Monday the 29-year-old was arrested but police have confirmed today that he has beenreleased pending further investigation.
A police statement released at the time of his arrest, said: "A 29-year-old man from the Newton-le-Willows area has this morning, Monday, August, 21 been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender."
Dickie was an iconic full back with Vulcan Fc in the 60s and the long serving secretary of the club.
