TWO men are due to face court this morning after the seizure of heroin with a street value of £1.2m and £500,000 of cash in Thatto Heath.
Detectives from TITAN, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) discovered 12 kilogrammes of heroin and the money in Scholes Lane in Thatto Heath on Friday.
Two addresses in Huyton were also targeted where officers seized approximately £30,000 from the occupant's car.
Lawrence Flaherty, 52, from Scholes Lane, Thatto Heath has been charged with money laundering and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Peter Byrne, 56, from Ardennes Road, Huyton has been charged with money laundering.
Both men have been kept in custody to appear on Monday, 21 August at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Adult Remand Court, Derby Square.
