A TEENAGER has been charged with murder and theft after a pensioner was found dead in a house in Newton-le-Willows.
The 17-year-old suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded in custody to appear before Liverpool Youth Court tomorrow, Monday.
An investigation was launched after Richard Percival, 71, who was known locally as 'Dickie', died after suffering a blunt force trauma to the back of the head.
The 71-year-old's body was found on Friday evening.
Officers attended the address on Dixon Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, at 4pm after receiving calls.
Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the death.
Forensics remain at the scene as investigations continue.
