DETECTIVES have released CCTV photos of two men they want to speak to following a distraction burglary at a Newton-le-Willows pub.

At around 10am on Sunday, June 25, two men entered the Pied Bull public house on High Street.

One of the pair caused a disturbance in the pub while the other entered an office and stole some cash.

Officers have issued CCTV images of two men who they believe could assist with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Louise Birchall, from Merseyside Police, said: "We believe one of the men distracted staff by shouting about damage to a car in the car park while the second man went into the office and stole the cash.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of the High Street who saw anyone acting suspiciously or anyone who recognises either of the two men in the CCTV images to come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 6890 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111.
