WHISTON and St Helens Hospitals' Charity is setting businesses the challenge of turning £50 into a fortune with its 'Best Business Brain' challenge.

The charity is looking for 20 local firms to take part in its first accumulator challenge.

Each team that signs up will be presented with an initial stake of £50; it will then be the team’s task to make as much money as possible throughout September.

Scottish Power Energy Networks is the first business to have signed up to the event.

Andrew Lloyd, Merseyside district manager, said: “The challenge is great for local businesses and our staff as it’s all about team building, creativity, and having fun. We are really excited to be on board and have already decided we are going to win!”

Fundraising ideas include cake sales, an office tuck shop, charity football match, car park car wash.

The money amassed will enable staff at Whiston and St Helens hospitals to provide services for patients’ wellbeing, which would not otherwise be possible through NHS budgets.

To enter, workplaces can call the Charity Office on 0151 676 5938 / 290 4531 or email hello@WSHospitalsCharity.org.
